Young Girl’s 1922 Summer Party Dress
This dress, in the simple and clean-lined look of the ’20s, is a daytime party version of the classic flapper style. Carlin models this dress, from about 1922, with a large hat, a carryover from the big hats of the teens.
1920s Fashionable Day Dresses
In the image below, Suzannah is wearing a frock of cream wool crepe trimmed with silk and lace. It was made from an antique pattern, circa 1926. With it she wears a periwinkle felt cloche from Lavender’s Green. Kelly’s light tan wool crepe frock is adapted from a dress in the 1928 Sears catalog. Her rosewood felt hat is trimmed with a mahogany velvet band and antique floral spray.
1927 Car and Matching Dress
This pale green wool crepe ’27 day dress was made to go with the classic car from the same year. Modeled with a fashionable hat, also a Lavender’s Green creation, and gloves, it creates a stylish day look.
1929 Day Dress
This is a lightweight rayon day dress with vintage collar and cuffs circa 1929. It shows an interesting transitional time between the classic 1920s dropped waist, straight shape and the beginnings of the flowy, drapey ’30s.
